usanie uangu: my art.
usanii yangu (usanie uangu) - Swahili: art, my
Usanie uangu is Swahili for “my art”. The ancestors of all humans stem from the region, where Swahili is spoken today: it is the region in East Africa around the Turkana Sea and the River Omo, shared by many countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ruanda, Somalia and Ethiopia. This cradle of mankind is also the place, where the oldest artworks have been found. Countless mural paintings decorate the rocks of East Africa. Excavations brought forward innumerable artworks and artistically decorated objects. Our ancestors were obviously fascinated with art and lived their passion out. Through art they shared their awareness of life, their activities, interests and beliefs. The display of everyday life interfused with fantasy and cult. In order to create an artwork, our ancestors invested a lot of time and probably worked as a team: the colors had to be assembled from materials that had to be found first. The objects made of stone, bones or wood were hard to handle with the simple tools they used. But our ancestors did all that, because art was important to them. They have passed their passion on to their children. To us.
usanie uangu looks at art from an original perspective: art is a primal urge of human beings. Everyone who shares his awareness of life, views and interests out of an honest and unadulterated motivation is an artist. Everyone who conveys his enthusiasm, happiness, love, pain, worries, anger, aspiration, thoughts or visions is an artist. Everyone who creates because he has to and wants to is an artist. Everyone who loves art. Maybe that includes all of us.

An artist is art itself, because he lives it out. Not only in his work, but through his entire life. The audience of art, the observer or the buyer of art is also an artist himself. Because he needs art, absorbs it and lives it out. Not only throughout the artwork he buys, but throughout his entire life.
Art is an encounter between two people, who have perceived and acknowledged one another and who are happy about it. Art is a relationship without time and space bonds. Art is love - sincere, deep and unconditional love.
Art is life in its origin, independent and pristine, irrepressible and untamable, inexhaustible and endless, boundless and timeless.
